Chapter Eleven

After Ma had made it clearly known that she wanted to live where she could have neighbors and be close to a town, why did she (and the rest of the family) decide to stop and settle where they did?  Be sure to revisit the chapter and explain yourself completely and thoroughly.

  1. They settled there because at first it was Ma, but the whole family didn't want to travel another forty miles to another town.

  3. I think they didn't go any farther because they were all worn out from the trip. I also believe they stopped because at the end of the chapter Pa and Billy came back and said they found water.

  4. I think they didn't go any further because Ma was tried from the long trip and i think so where the boys. Also the next town is forty miles away.Another thing is that at the end of the chapter Billy and Pa found some water. So that is another reason that they didn't travel any further!

  5. Because they didn't want to go another 40 miles to the next town and there was a stream with water near by and it also had fish in it.
