Chapter One

Please revisit chapter one in order to respond thoughtfully to this.  At the end of this chapter, Billy says to Sam, "Harold says there's no such thing as always."  Why do you think Billy mentioned this to Sam and what do you think he meant by it?

  1. I think it is because Sam says that his family does everything the same, always.

  3. That people aren't always the same all the time. He is really saying that people might change sometimes.

  4. I agree, but I think not that people will change, just that they will do something different.

  5. I think because Harold was an ex slave maybe because his slave owner would have him do something different every day.

  6. i think that because everyday Sam thinks it is the same ,so Billy must have told Sam that to see how he would feel when something changes.
