Chapter Eighteen
Why do you think Sam did not say anything to Allan (before the hawk came) about his dislike for trying to kill prairie dogs?
I think he didn't say anything because he thought he would be too late. I know he didn't want to kill the prairie dogs because he said, " Fish are one thing, racoons are just pests, but prairie dogs are like people."
I think that he liked prairie dogs and didn't want them to die, but I think he said nothing because he didn't want Allan to think he was a fool. Allan might think he is a fool because Allan had been out hunting the prairie dogs before and he didn't get anything. Also Sam said," Fish are one thing, coons are just pests, but prairie dogs are more like people."
I think that Sam didn't want to kill the prairie dog because he couldn't stand to see the dog get killed, but I think Sam didn't say anything because Sam didn't want Allan to think he was some sort of fool.Allan would have thought that Sam was a fool because Allan has been hunting prairie dogs before and he did not get any thing at all.
I think because it reminded him of the colt, and he said that fish are one thing and the prairie dogs were more like people.
ReplyDeleteI think he liked the prairie dogs and thought of them not as wild game. And he said,"Fish are one thing, but prairie dogs are more like people."

ReplyDeleteMatt and Johnathon, you need to reread the question -- you did not answer it.
ReplyDeleteMabe because Sam thought that Allan would get mad at Sam and Sam wouldn't have a friend in the Dakotas anymore.
