Chapter Twenty-five

What are some ways that Sam changed from the beginning of the story to the end?  What do you think caused these changes.  I am looking for a thorough explanation of these ideas.

  1. I think Sam liked Billy more as the story progressed on. This may have happened because Sam was with Billy when they worked, played and he shared a room with him.

  2. I think Sam and Billy's relationship got better and better through the book because they were with each other for a long time in the wagon and they were working with each other a lot and also Sams perspective of going to the Dakotas changed because he got a friend there.

  3. I think several things happened to Sam, One thing that I believe happened to am was that he became more kind to ex-slaves like Harold. I believe this change happened to Sam because he compared his life to Harold and he was in a state with less segregation. I also think that Sam and Billy became closer because they were together more.

  4. I think that Sam and Billy's relationship has got a lot better through the book because they were together a lot of the time in the wagon on there long journey to the Dakota Territory. And during that time Harold kept coming up and I think that Sam learned some stuff about Harold,so that might have made them stop arguing because Sam thought that Harold was an ex-slave nothing more, nothing less. Then a slave.
