Chapter Nineteen
On page, "The baby began to cry, a high, fretful sound." What do you think "fretful" means in this context? What makes you think that?
I think it means a scared sound because the locust were there.
ReplyDeleteI think it means frightful because fretful sounds like frightful and it would make sense in the context.
ReplyDeleteI think fretful means long and shaky because babies cry at different pitches at different times and cry for long time periods.
ReplyDeleteI think that fretful means a long,high pitch,scream or cry.Also doing it for a long period or periods of time.
