Chapter Twenty-one
On page 138, Sam says, "Ma chided me for fidgeting at the table, but I couldn't sit still and ran outside to stand on top of the dugout."
I think that chided means to hit or to look at someone in a way like to tell them to stop.
ReplyDeleteI think it means to yell at some one.
ReplyDeleteI think to chide means to scold because Ma would scold Sam for fidgeting at the table.
ReplyDeleteI think chided or chide means to elbow or scold someone. It would make sence for ma to scold or elbow Sam for fidgeting at the table.
