"'Get to work, Billy. I want to get our house built!'
"He put his foot to the spade and smoothed the side of a brick. 'What's the hurry, Sam? There's nothing to be afraid of.'
"I had all I could do not to jump on him. What did he mean by afraid? I wasn't afraid, just responsible."
What do you think of this exchange of thoughts? Is Sam afraid? Is he responsible? Both? Neither? Something else entirely? Please explain what you think is making Sam the way he is and why you think what you do.
I think Sam was being responsible because he was doing his job to get the house done and Billy was not.
ReplyDeleteJohnathon you did not answer the question or explain yourself fully as I asked. You need to read and write more thoughtfully.
ReplyDeleteI think Sam really wants to get the house built, but does not want to much or any work. I think he just wants to be in the home back in Kentucky with his Grandma and Grandpa.

ReplyDeleteDo you think Sam was afraid at all? If so, of what?
ReplyDeleteI think Sam wants the house to be finished, but he also doesn't want do do a lot of work or any because i think he would be rather in Kentucky with Grandma and Grandpa.
ReplyDeleteI think Sam wants to make the house quickly so that he can make himself at home. I know this because it seems that he is eager to get inside the house.
